She has the look, not just because of her height and looks but because of the aloof sort of expression her face falls into in repose. She’s also pretty fashion-forward, though she has something of a rock star aesthetic - leather, denim, and she wears only black, gray, a little white, and red. She favors high heels, because there’s no chance of hiding her height of 5'10 anyway, and wears makeup like armor - smoky eyes, red lipstick. Her signature, though, is a lot of jewelry, most of it made by her. It runs the gamut - modern, bohemian, and vintage, and she treats herself like a walking advertisement for her shop.
personality & demeanor I'M AN UNPAINTED PORTRAIT _______________________________ To many, Sarah would seem to be the ideal, classical Club: she's charming, gregarious - the life of any party she involves herself in - and artistic, with a focus on the craft of jewelry design. Unlike her fathers and to extent her twin, no one whispers that Sarah Kagan would be a good Spade, and truthfully, she wouldn't be happy in the other black suit. However, Sarah is far sharper than she appears on the surface. She has a temper inherited from her father, and she and Ty had blowouts in their teen years that are still legendary in Club Castle, though they've both left that behind them. She's been trained in self-defense by both parents as well as her uncle Jordan, and Sarah Kagan knows her way around any number of weapons, but she doesn't choose to make that knowledge a defining aspect of herself. She's also not risen through the ranks nearly as fast as Ty has, and she doesn't have the same ambitions, but she's inherited more than an artistic nature from Elisha - and she can be both analytical and manipulative if the situation calls for it. Likewise, from Hadyn she's inherited a strong sense of style - but also the charm and skill of an excellent actress, and finely tuned sense of revenge.
personal history WITHOUT ANY SECRETS, WITHOUT ANY PAST _______________________________ Born to Elisha Kagan and Hadyn Novak with the assistance of a surrogate, Sarah grew up in Club Castle as a veritable princess. Elisha had been King of the Clubs and the Deck's foremost spy since long before the twins were born, and Hadyn was of a Spade family where intrigue and power games were taught in the cradle. They didn't raise their children to be the same, of course, but a certain amount of both of those abilities were passed on - to Ty, which is clear to many people, but also to Sarah. As a little girl, Sarah learned art alongside Elisha, theatre from Hadyn, and diplomacy and politics from her adoptive older sister Eileen, and for a time it wasn't entirely clear whether she'd become an artist, and actress, or if she'd end up involving herself in the running of the Suit and the Deck. She was not, however, ambitious, not in the same way her twin was, and in the end she turned to art - leaving the Deck for a few years to study architectural design in New York and then jewelry design in Milan. When she returned to the Deck at the age of twenty-three, it was at the rank of Six, and over the next two years she challenged once more, settling at the rank of Eight and primarily living and working in Town.
